Free Training Evaluations
At John K9, every great training journey starts with understanding your dog — and you.
Our Free Training Evaluations are a no-obligation opportunity to meet with a professional trainer, discuss your goals, and build a plan tailored to your dog’s individual needs.

What to Expect
Each evaluation lasts about 30 minutes and takes place at our Plant City facility.
During your visit, one of our experienced trainers will:
-
Sit down with you to discuss your dog’s goals and challenges
-
Review any concerns such as reactivity, anxiety, or aggression
-
Observe your dog’s behavior and body language in a calm, structured setting
-
Recommend the best training program based on your goals and your dog’s temperament
-
Help you set up your Time to Pet account and upload vaccines
The goal isn’t to “test” your dog — it’s to understand them. This initial meeting helps us create a training plan that works for both of you.

Our Approach
We understand that not all dogs are immediately comfortable in new environments or with new people. For that reason, your trainer may not make direct contact with your dog during the evaluation. Many nervous or reactive dogs do best when we stay neutral and allow them to approach at their own pace.
This approach lets the trainer observe natural behaviors — like comfort level, focus, and stress signals — without forcing interaction. From there, we can identify the safest and most effective way to begin training.

Why We Do It
Every dog is different. A free evaluation ensures we:
-
Match your dog with the most suitable training program
-
Address problem behaviors safely and effectively
-
Understand your dog’s learning style and motivation
-
Set realistic expectations and measurable goals
It’s also your chance to meet our team, tour the facility, and see how we operate. We want you to feel confident that you’re leaving your dog in capable, compassionate hands.
